I picked up my 24 Cayenne S on Sep 28, 2023. My sales professional is Johnny Lorenz and he has assisted of my purchase from day 1 til the day of the delivery. I just want to give some comments on his professionalism in my journey of ordering the vehicle. He is truly an ideal person in this field and making sure my delivery was completed to my highest satisfaction. He followed up with any of my questions and provided feedback at the earliest possible time. In all, I would give him 11/10
THIS IS WORTH THE READ. I haven’t had any experience with Porsche Centre Downtown Toronto aka “Lake Shore Porsche” until our Porsche developed a coolant leak in May 2023 and I figured I have it repaired with them because it was closer to home instead of servicing it at our usual go-to PFAFF dealership in Vaughan. THAT WAS A BIG MISTAKE!
First of all, there is something seriously wrong with the service advisor Chantalle, who was assigned to handle that repair. During all our attempts to communicate with her we were continuously interrupted. It appears she is unable to listen. It was extremely difficult to carry a conversation with her, either over a phone or in person.
After the coolant leak issue was fixed mid-May, we noticed lack of agility and lazy response from the engine. It was strange to see it behave this way since it never had this problem before. However, knowing that the car had just been serviced by a certified Porsche dealer, we wanted to trust in their work… so we just assumed it was due to extremely hot weather. Until, early August, when a check engine light came on. REDUCED ENGINE POWER.
Aha! So we were right about the car’s response after all, I thought back then. That evening I decided to look for the issue myself. And it wasn’t hard to find the source of the problem after removing the engine’s top cover. The rubber hose feeding air to the throttle body is meant to be held in place by 2 stainless steel clamps. Whoever put it back together after repairing our coolant leak back in May simply slipped that rubber hose onto the throttle body and LEFT THE CLAMPS UNTIGHTENED. They were just sitting there spinning around the hose freely. So the hose sat in place barely grabbing onto the throttle body while leaking boost until it eventually came completely off! I couldn’t believe it! I also found the brand new coolant line which they installed for us was left unsecured since they failed to replace the 2 cut zip ties left behind hanging. I made a video of what I found to document the issues, and then, fixed those issues myself.
The next morning I reached out to Chantalle and shared the video. She immediately went into denial suggesting it was most likely someone else and definitely not them forgetting to properly secure the clamps. Only after informing her that the car hasn’t been touched by anyone since their coolant repair 3 months ago she offered to have the vehicle diagnosed if we were to bring it in. I did so yesterday. But it was nothing more than waste of my time.
She took the car in, brought it back out and said they couldn’t find any engine codes stored in the system. She also insisted that had the throttle body hose was left unsecured the check engine light would have come on much sooner than 3 months after they worked on the car. I disagreed with that. Basically, the wall of denial from Chantalle and not even a verbal apology.
I then asked for a complementary oil change stating that we are concerned with contaminated engine oil since the throttle body was left exposed under the hood. She refused.
Immediately after that I spoke to her manager, Khalil. A much better listener, he is. At least he didn’t interrupt and cut me off during our brief conversation when I was sharing my disappointing experience with Chantalle as well as unacceptable lack of quality in their service technician work. And because they basically failed to assembly the car back together properly, I asked for the same thing – a free of charge oil change to avoid possible engine wear due to contaminated oil. HE LAUGHED IN MY FACE. That is after assuring me they strive to treat everyone “fairly and with respect”. I was not surprised, so I stood up and left. And I am not coming back ever. And I suggest you steer clear of this Porsche dealership if you expect nothing less than perfection from those whom you trust to work on your beloved Porsche vehicle – just like it should be.
The worst customer service ever. Every single process was a headache with them. They gave wrong information about everything. If you want a buy a luxury car with a luxury experience find yourself in a different location. The sales Associate was very rude to us. Every single conversation with the finance department was about proving to them we were not poor enough to buy a car from Porsche. Even if we provide every single banking and financial document which shows we can afford it, they are acting like we are trying to scam them. They said they approved and then they changed their mind 3 times. What the heck? We purchased the car but so regret going to that location. Our friend went there after us to purchase a car but he had to leave because of how rude they were.
I picked up my new 911 a few days ago and it was a great experience. My sales associate, Johnny Lorenz was great throughout the whole process. His knowledge about the entire Porsche lineup was incredible and he helped me create a custom built 911 that I know I will be happy with for many years to come. Porsche Centre Downtown is not the closet Porsche dealership to me, but it is the only Porsche dealership I will deal with going forward. Many thanks to not only Johnny, but also to Chris Plater, the General Manager and Brian Haszczyn, the Sales Manager, who all made me feel like a cherished client. I am sure this will not be the last Porsche for myself and family and I am sure that all future Porsches will be only from Porsche Centre Downtown Toronto!
Exemplary service from Johnny Lorenz and the team at Downtown Porsche. Highly recommend them. Yes there can be a wait for the more in demand models, but once your dream car does arrive (and it will), the team at DT Porsche go above and beyond to make the experience of the purchase special.
Went in towards end of day simply to compare the difference between a Macan and Cayenne. …
My experience to purchase a new Macan was exceptional, getting the numbers that both myself and Porsche agreed on worked. Preparation of the Macan was absolutely perfect and the instructions on the cars features could not have been better. …
We’ve bought many high end cars over many years. The experience at Dt Porsche and specifically Johnny was the best. Little touches, small nuances, quick responses to an overall great experience. Highly highly recommend Johnny, Stuart, Sandro and Dt Porsche. You will leave feeling amazing.
